Project Overview & Background
Eco Plastic BD is a Bangladesh-based manufacturer of food-grade plastic packaging — containers, jars, and storage solutions for bakeries, sweets shops, and household use. The client needed a bilingual (Bangla/English) product showcase site that felt premium, loaded fast, and let customers order directly over WhatsApp without a full e-commerce checkout.
The Client Challenge & Requirements
The client didn't need a traditional WooCommerce store — most orders happen via WhatsApp conversation, not online checkout. The real challenges were: managing 20+ products across multiple categories (Plastic Items, Jars) without WooCommerce overhead, giving each product its own gallery, specs, and a one-tap WhatsApp inquiry button, and building a homepage the client could fully control (hero banners, videos, client logos) without touching code.
Our Engineering Solution & Architecture
We built a fully custom WordPress theme (Eco Plastic BD) paired with a purpose-built companion plugin (Eco Catalog) that registers products as a lightweight custom post type instead of WooCommerce. Each product gets structured meta fields (specs, category, product ID) and an auto-generated WhatsApp deep link with a pre-filled inquiry message. The homepage is powered end-to-end by the WordPress Customizer — hero slider, product category grid, video slider, and client logo marquee are all editable by the client with zero code. Security hardening (rate limiting, audit logging, custom security headers) is built directly into the theme's core.
